Stores + Brands | Fair+Fair warenhuis in Amsterdam

Vorige week had ik het genoegen om kennis te maken met Joyce van Fair+Fair. Fair+Fair is een warenhuis met lifestyle en home producten. Al deze producten zijn FAIR, ze zijn fairtrade, ecologisch, recycling of cradle to cradle. De winst die behaald wordt uit deze producten wordt weer geïnvesteerd in huisvesting voor de makers van de producten. Een prachtig concept! Sieraden uit Indonesië en Nepal, kussens uit Turkije, terracotta servies uit Colombia, producten van leer uit Bangladesh, plaids en tafelkleden uit India, kandelaren uit Afrika en glaswerk uit Syrië. Naast een webshop heeft Fair+Fair ook een vestiging aan de Herengracht in Amsterdam. Een overzichtelijke sfeervolle winkel verdeeld over twee etages. Neem zeker even een kijkje, en ik weet zeker dat je niet zonder lege handen naar buiten komt!

Last week i had the pleasure to meet Joyce from Fair+Fair.  Fair+Fair is a little department store with lifestyle and home products. All these products are FAIR, they are fairtrade, ecologic, recycling, or cradle to cradle. The profit achieved from these products will be invested in housing for the makers of this products. A wonderful concept! Jewelry from Indonesia and Nepal, cushions from Turkij, terracotta kitchenware from Colombia, leather products from Bangladesh, throws and tablecloths from India, candlesticks from Africa and glassware from Syria. In addition to a webshop Fair+Fair also has a store on the Herengracht in Amsterdam. A clear atmospheric shop on two floors. Please take a look in this amazing store and i'm sure you will buy something!

Oriental design + inspiration | Bokja design Libanon from Hoda Baroudi and Maria Hibri

De Bokja stijl is al een tijdje bekend, meubels worden bekleed met allerlei verschillende lappen stof. Het Libanese designteam Hoda Baroudi en Maria Hibri ontwerpt sinds 2000 hun eigen collectie meubels onder de naam Bokja design. Ze delen hun liefde voor antiek en vintage meubels en de passie voor traditionele stoffen en wandtapijten uit verschillende landen. Bokja staat voor liefde van de oude culturen, poetisch gebruik van kleur en handwerk en het gebruiken van materialen wat er voor handen is. De stoffen zijn allemaal uniek en elke stoel of bank is dan ook weer anders. Een ontwerp kan bestaan uit verschillende stoffen waaronder bijvoorbeeld een bloemmotief met een ruit, een kelim met fluweel of blokprints met linnen. Juist deze combinatie maakt het Bokja design zo uniek. Hoda en Maria werken samen met lokale kunstenaars en zorgen voor werk voor mensen die het nodig hebben. Bokja's winkel bevindt zich in Libanon maar de collecties zijn ook te vinden in New York, Parijs ( Merci), Londen en nu zelfs bij MisterDesign in Nederland! Neem zeker even een kijkje op de website van Bokja Design, de ontwerpsters nemen je mee in hun creatieve en kleurrijke wereld van Bokja.

Ik ben een liefhebber van de producten van TineK Home. De collectie wordt steeds groter maar de uitstraling blijft herkenbaar ; sophisticated, puur, verfijnd, details en subtiele prints. Het nieuwe serviesgoed Deli hierboven vind ik echt prachtig, een mooie basis voor ieder interieur! Hierbij een aantal inspiratiebeelden van haar collectie. Be inspired!

I really love the products from TineK Home. The collection is still growing but the signature stays recognizable; sophisticated, pure, refined, details and subtile prints. Styling + Projects | Chinatown op de Libelle zomerweek 2012

Afgelopen maandag liet ik al even de fietsen zien die we gestyled hadden tijdens de opbouw van de Libelle zomerweek. Alweer voor het derde jaar aan de slag, en altijd weer leuk om met een team stylisten alle tenten van de Libelle zomerweek te stylen! Het thema dit jaar was Chinatown, een heel fijn en sfeervol thema wat tot uiting kwam in lampionnen, de kleur rood, tekens, fietsen, en prints. Vorige week zondag was alweer de afbouw. Ik hoop dat iedereen een leuke zomerweek heeft gehad!

Last monday i showed some bikes we've styled during the contruction of the Libelle zomerweek. Already for the 3rth year to work, it's always fun to be with a team of stylists and styling all the tents of the Libelle zomerweek. The theme this year was China Town, a very fine and attractive theme which was reflected in lanterns, the colour red, signs, bicyles and prints. Last sunday we already clean up everything. I hope everyone has a nice summer week in Almere!

Nada Debs is een Libanese ontwerpster en heeft in 2000 haar label 'East&East' opgericht. In dit label ontwerp en verkoopt ze haar eigen meubel,- en accessoireslijn. Ze richt zich op arabisch handwerk, traditie, klassieke en kwalitatief goede producten in een mix met moderne invloeden uit het westen. Inmiddels is ze erg bekend in de Arabische wereld, ze stond ook in Milaan dus wellicht gaat ze ook de Europese markt veroveren! Persoonlijk is de ARABESQUE MODERN Armchair mijn favoriet, en dan in de uitvoering zoals op het 5e beeld, een licht frame met bekleding van leer, prachtig!

Nada Debs is a designer from Libanon and created her label 'East&East' in year 2000. In this label she designes and sells her own furniture and home accessories. Her signature is arabic craftmanship, tradition, classic and high quality products in a mix with modern influences from the west. Now she is very well-known in the middle-east, she was also presenting her work during the designweek in Milan, so maybe she will also capture the European area! Personally, the Arabesque Modern Armchair is my favourite item, like on the 5th photo in a white frame with upholstery from leather, wonderful!

Design + Trends ( Styling project ) | Inspirerende 'Stapel' fietsen uit China op de Libelle zomerweek 2012

Alweer twee weken geleden heb ik samen met een team stylisten weer meegeholpen met de opbouw van de hoofdtenten voor de Libelle zomerweek in Almere. Het thema dit jaar was Chinatown met veel rood, lampionnen, symbolen en Chinese tekens, het resultaat is erg sfeervol geworden, helemaal Chinatown! Op het terrein stonden een aantal fietsen welke aangekleed moesten worden met allerlei gebruiksartikelen net zoals de mensen in China dat doen. Elke stylist kreeg een fiets toegewezen, het resultaat is niet net als de fietsen in China, maar wel erg leuk om te doen! Net werd ik geattendeerd op het werk van Alain Delorme, heel toepasselijk.

Already two weeks ago i worked with a team of stylists together for the styling of the tents for the Libelle Zomerweek in Almere. The theme this year was China Town with many red lanterns, Chinese symbols and characters, the result has become very attractive, especially China Town! On the grounds were a number of bikes which were decorated with all kinds of things like people in China do. Every stylist must decorate a bike, it's not the same as in China, but it was very nice to do! I just be attented to the work of Alain Delorme, very appropriately.

Look inside + Inspire | Santorini Hotel Aigialos in luxe en mediteraanse stijl

Nog geen vakantie geboekt voor de zomer? Wellicht na het zien van dit hotel in Fira, Griekenland wel! Wat een prachtig luxe hotel in meditteraanse sfeer. Veel gebruik gemaakt van de meubels uit de serie Ghost van Gervasoni en de bekende stoelen van Vitra. De grote lantarens geven meteen al een mediterraanse sfeer. Leuk accent zijn de vilten kussens waarbij de hoeken in fluo-verf 'gedoopt' zijn! Een sfeervolle relaxte sfeer voor de ultieme vakantiebestemming!

Haven't booked your holiday for this summer yet? Maybe after seeing this hotel in Fira, Greece, you will. What a beautiful luxurious hotel with a meddittarean atmosphere. They use a lot of furniture from the Ghost collection from Gervasoni and the well known chairs from Vitra. The big lanterns give alreay a meddittarean atmosphere in the room. A nice accent are the felt cushions where the corners are 'dipped' in fluo-paint. A relaxte atmosphere for the ultimate holiday!
